October Update

Hello all – so it’s October (how did that happen?) and I’ve got several bits and bobs of news to tell all of you.

First of all, I am very excited to announce the cover of ‘Don’t Look Back’, the latest novel from one of my favourite authors: Jennifer L Armentrout, who I’ve mentioned before several times. If you’re interested to hear about it, read to the end of my blog where I’ll give you all the information I possess!

In other news, I’ve already been ill this school year (which isn’t unusual for me. I’ve had: surgery, operations, several ‘unknown’ mysterious buggers that often wind me up in hospital, tonsillitis since I was born, excess stomach acid etc etc) and this time it wasn’t the illness (ulcer infection)  that had me missing school, but the antibiotics which made me sick. Fabulous.

In case you’re interested in my school/career/work life, I finally received my A2 predictions of A*AA, the A* in English which means that (hopefully) I’ll get an interview from my dream university: Kings College London, to study English with Classics. I am also now doing work experience at PAN, the British Flute Society Music Journal, as a journalist. My first assignment is attending a concert this month which I can’t wait to attend and review! If you’re interested in my journalism stuff, check out my tumblr at: http://howtojournalist.tumblr.com/ I will also be attending the Battle Of Ideas 2013 conference this month and I will be reviewing a few talks as well as volunteering.

NOW on to the cover review! This time I have something very special for you guys, as it is an animated – I repeat ANIMATED – cover, but unfortunately I have no clue how to incorporate it on my blog other than giving you lot a link. So here you go:

Don’t Look Back release date: 04/15/2014

Don’t Look Back synopsis:

Samantha is a stranger in her own life. Until the night she disappeared with her best friend, Cassie, everyone said Sam had it all-popularity, wealth, and a dream boyfriend.

Sam has resurfaced, but she has no recollection of who she was or what happened to her that night. As she tries to piece together her life from before, she realizes it’s one she no longer wants any part of. The old Sam took “mean girl” to a whole new level, and it’s clear she and Cassie were more like best enemies. Sam is pretty sure that losing her memories is like winning the lottery. She’s getting a second chance at being a better daughter, sister, and friend, and she’s falling hard for Carson Ortiz, a boy who has always looked out for her-even if the old Sam treated him like trash.

But Cassie is still missing, and the facts about what happened to her that night isn’t just buried deep inside of Sam’s memory-someone else knows, someone who wants to make sure Sam stays quiet. All Sam wants is the truth, and if she can unlock her clouded memories of that fateful night, she can finally move on. But what if not remembering is the only thing keeping Sam alive?
